Our Story

Life Is a Rush on the Slide Side

We mean it literally. The rush of wind in your hair. The sound of your laughter, whoop, or scream rushing from your lips. The rush to climb back up and do it again! Our Extreme Slides are a family favorite. It’s a hoot-and-a-half to watch as moms, dads, grandparents, and grandkids take on the slide of their liking.

Take your pick from the pack. Five slides ranging in size and shape. These include an enormous 32-foot spiral slide sure to make you dizzy, and the ultra-fast slide known as The Chute.

The Start of the Slide

No historians can pin down exactly when the first slide was built. There’s no doubt that over the millennia, ingenious adults and play-loving kids found ways to slide down things for the thrill of it. It’s hard to imagine people not doing it, from grain chutes to muddy hillsides! Hello, snow sled much or anything?

However, the earliest evidence of a manufactured-for-this-purpose kid’s slide appears in a black-and-white picture of a New York rooftop playground circa 1900.

Other Claims to Sliding Fame

At Fritz’s Adventure, we consider ourselves “slide connoisseurs” when it comes to extreme activities in Branson. Because of this, we can appreciate a good slide anywhere it’s constructed. Our requirements for excellence: it’s fun, it’s non-powered, there’s no water, it’s safe, and you’re the only thing sliding. It’s old-school rules here on the slide side! Check out some compelling slides from around the world!

The ArcelorMittal Orbit, London, England. Imagine taking an elevator up to the top of a sculpture that’s just 40 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty. Then, you can take a slide that twists around the sculpture 12 times for 584 feet of scream-worthy speed. Tally ho, indeed!

Lobby Slide, Hotel Barceló Malaga, Spain. Imagine you’re in a lovely, lavish hotel in beautiful Costa Del Sol, Spain. Enjoy breakfast in their plush restaurant, then whizz down to the lobby on their slide! Sure, they have stairs, but who are we kidding? We’re taking the slide every time.

Tube Slide, Technical University of Munich, Germany. Students in the Mathematics & Informatics building can take a slide that covers 40 vertical feet to the lobby floor. The catch? It’s a parabola slide, built on this formula: z = y = h x²/d². Of course, it is, because #mathersgottamath!

I found my Fritz!
